The Eclectic Hour
Host: Jim Barker
Interview / Variety

Jim is a graduate of ETSU with a degree in Psychology and minors in sociology and humanities. He studied tennis in Florida after graduation and eventually became a teaching pro and club owner in Ft. Myers.

In the early 80's he began working part time in video production with a good friend who owned a video production company. It was while working in video production that I was introduced to mixing boards, microphones and interviewing techniques.

He is currently coaching and teaching tennis; working in video production and he also has an hour program on WEHC radio titled Jim Barker’s Eclectic Hour. And—he has been elected to the Town Council in the town of Glade Spring where he is completing a four year term.

Wombats and Music
Host: Harry Baya
Talk / 50's / Country

Wombats & Music showcases a wide range of music, interviews and a few surprises. The music includes country, folk, string band, soft-rock, and 50s hits. You are not likely to hear opera or classical music, but you might hear your neighbor's string band, or three students singing acapella.

Harry is on the IT staff at E&H, specializing in the use of technology in teaching and learning. He lived in Abingdon until he was six and the New York City area for many years. He returned to Abingdon in 2004. Harry is an amateur musician, loves to sing (mostly folk, gospel, shape note, and rounds), and has been learning Appalachian ("Old Time") fiddle for two years. If you make the kind of music featured here, and would like to be on this show, let Harry know.

The “Wombat” part of the title, and the show, is intended to be somewhat mysterious, and ambiguous, and leaves the door open to include anything that he thinks would entertain listeners.
