| The strong faculty demonstrates expertise, experience, and commitment to students The faculty brings a broad range of experience to the department. With expertise in writing, editing, design, magazine production, broadcasting, web journalism, and media law, these dedicated professors lead students through a program that yields successful professionals and good people. Dr. Teresa Keller, chair ![]() Dr. Keller worked as a director of public relations, an advertising associate, and a television reporter and anchor before joining the faculty of Emory & Henry College. She has continued her work in broadcasting both professionally and on campus with WEHC-FM and with ehc-tv. Her students have won numerous state awards, regional Emmys, and national video competitions. Television News, by Keller and Hawkins, is now being used in colleges and universities around the country. Dr. Tracy Lauder ![]() With a professional background in magazines and public relations, Dr. Lauder?s experience includes being a writer and editor at Southern Living magazine and running a freelance writing and consulting business. Her teaching interests include media literacy, persuasive communication, print design, media writing, and women?s studies. She is particularly interested in how the mass media shape culture and influence behavior. In addition, Lauder currently serves the college's general education program as Director of Oral Communication. Dr. Twange Kasoma ![]() Dr. Kasoma kicked off her journalistic career as a stringer for All Africa News Agency and a press researcher for Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Zambia. Kasoma, who teaches media writing classes, has also worked as a freelance print journalist and editor. Her research interests are mainly in international communication, and she is the co-founder of the Kasoma Media Foundation - an organization that spearheads the improvement of training for Zambian journalists. She is currently working on an Emory & Henry study-abroad course entitled Media and Journalistic Practice in Zambia. |
