Writing and foreign language placement
Writing. A student with unusually high verbal scores on the SAT or ACT may
be exempted from English 100 and 101. In order to fulfill college requirements,
such a student still must enroll in and complete an upper-level writing
course. Credit is granted only for the writing course which the student
completes.
Foreign language. Students who have taken foreign language courses in high
school should contact the Department of Languages in order to be placed
in the appropriate course.
