Anthropology (B.A.)
Objective: To offer students a broad background in anthropology, preparing them for graduate study by introducing philosophical foundations, critical evaluation, data collection and analysis, approaches to problem-solving, and topical outlines of major subfields.
Requirements: Core courses are Sociology 103, 221, 334, 335, and Statistics 162 or equivalent. The college mathematics requirement is met by Mathematics 123 or 151. The senior project is 450 or 460. Students must also fulfill either an advanced mathematics or an advanced language component. The advanced mathematics component is met by Mathematics 151 and Computer Science 180; the advanced language requirement is met by French 201 or Spanish 201. In satisfying the major, students may elect to take up to three preapproved courses outside the department.

Minor in Sociology
A student may minor in sociology by completing 101, 334, 335, and three topical courses in sociology approved by the department chair.
