Objective: To develop an appreciation for excellence in literature by studying
representative works.
Requirement: Every sophomore student takes Great Books 200.
GTBK 200 Great Books
Representative works studied both as discrete texts and as reflections
of the societies and intellectual traditions that produced them. Works
recently studied: The Odyssey, The Inferno, Twelfth Night, Pride and Prejudice,
Pere Goriot, Things Fall Apart, and Song of Solomon. Four semester hours.
