Computer information management

Computer Information Management (B.A.)
Objective: To prepare students for employment or graduate study related to computer information management, emphasizing the ways in which computers and programs can be used as tools for solving problems in business, management, and other areas.
Requirements: Core courses are Computer Science 190, 210, 270, 310, Management 345, 360, two additional computer science courses, and one additional computer science or management course at or above the 300 level (not including 460, 470, or 471). The senior project is fulfilled through Computer Science 460 or 470. The college mathematics requirement is met by Statistics 161, 162, or 163. Students also select a minor in any discipline other than management, or the contextual and support area, as follows: Accounting 201, 202, Management 203, 305, 352, and 445.

The Tek.Xam, developed by a team of faculty and staff within the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges and now administered by that organization, is a national examination which assesses problem solving and computer applications skills. The exam is offered on a fee basis each semester at Emory & Henry. More information on the exam is available at www.tekxam.com.
