Student Insurance Other than the athletic insurance noted above, the college does not directly carry any type of accident or medical insurance for students. However, such coverage is available through an independent agent, and the college does have this agent automatically provide certain coverage for every student, with the cost billed to students and/or parents. If a student is covered by a family insurance policy and the family does not desire more coverage, the student must complete and return a waiver form available in the Business Office. International students and Study Abroad students are required to obtain international medical insurance, also provided through an independent agent, for the particular semester(s) or year(s) involved. Detailed information about insurance is explained in a brochure mailed in late summer to parents of students planning to enroll in the fall. The college cannot assume liability for the personal articles of students which are damaged or destroyed by fire and/or any other causes, or which are stolen. Appropriate insurance coverage should be obtained by the student or parents before enrolling. |
